WP9 Process modellng & design of experiments

WP9. Process modelling & design of experiments led by UGENT Process modelling & design of experiments will deal with development of several mathematical models. This will comprise of: Design of experiments for model structure selection and parameter estimation of models for (1) biocatalyst kinetics, (2) entire process kinetics, (3) integrated bioprocess and separation in support of WP2, and CFD model for scale up, with and without integrating a kinetic process model (in support of WP4). The objective is to develop a generic methodology to build simplified process models; evaluate time and effort to build new models from scratch for other systems and to optimise process operation using an improved simplified process model accounting for mixing effects.
